In love

Right at this very moment I have the sweetest, softest little bundle of cuteness curled up on my lap asleep. His name is Buttermilk, and he is a sweet Holland Lop/Netherlands Dwarf mix baby bunny. He is so tiny I can cup him in my hands.

We took Maya on Saturday to go and get him from a rabbit breeder as a surprise for her. She was a very excited and happy little girl when she realized what we were doing! When we brought him home at first he was a little timid, but now he is a part of the family. He runs around my house like a crazy person and then jumps up on my lap and grooms me. He and I have really bonded together. He likes Nathaniel and Maya as well, but Maya needs to learn to sit still if she wants him to jump up onto her lap!

Now if only we could get him litter trained completely (we have nicknamed him Sir Poops A Lot)

Holy crap. Look at all of that cuteness. I had a pet bunny (that I did a terrible job of taking care of) when I was 10-ish. It was a black t-rex lop ear, soooooo big. My parents didn't really teach me how to love her, so she didn't get the attention she needed, and when I did take her out of her cage, she would bite. I always think of getting another bunny, a much smaller one, but can only remember how horrible of a mama I was. You and Sir Poops A lot look like you're going to be very good friends.

tia, I was a terrible pet owner when I was a kid, too. We grow up and become better mamas!

Awww what a sweet little guy!
My friend had a bunny while we were growing up. He lived in her back yard (we lived in San Diego) and he was the best little floppy eared friend ever. His name was Chipper, and he was such a snuggler!

How absolutely wonderful! Baby bunnies are personifications of all that is right with the world. Even their poopsalot is quaint. Your Buttermilk in one lucky bunny. So is your daughter. And you, you are stunning! I love that photo.

If you aren't careful, I'm going to sneak in and steal his little nose ;)

OH!! I had bunnies growing up, too, but they weren't very 'social'.

Oh, congratulations on your new little bundle!! The litter box training will get better - especially if you get him neutered! It really helps a lot. He is just a precious sweetheart!
