Going to Milwaukee tomorrow!

I am super excited! My friend Julia (aka Red Otter) and I are going to Milwaukee tomorrow with our husbands for the afternoon. It is going to be so nice to get out of town for the day. I will post about it when we get back!

You can also check out Julia's blog at http://redotter580.blogspot.com or her very lovely etsy shop http://redotter.etsy.com

New Book

I am really proud of how well this journal turned out. I love brown and blue together, even if it is trendy.

New art

There just is not enough time in the day for all the artmaking I dream about doing. I did manage to finish the book I was working on and paint an ACEO. I am pleased with it.

"Bricco's Baby" 2.5" x 3.5"

Michele Maule

I recently bought my first ACEO from an incredible artist named Michele Maule who lives in Michigan. I have fallen in love with her work and think I may be lucky I snagged her work before she gets famous! Michele primarily paints on solid plywood using her own handmade gesso (wow), collage material, paint, graphite and beeswax. She also has a Boston Terrier (my absolute favorite dog!!!). Ok maybe I am gushing a bit, but you will too when you see her art.

Here is the ACEO that I snatched up:

"Typwriter ACEO"

I also love this:

"Snow Day" 6.5" x 6.5"

You can check out more of her art at:

Before bedtime

An image of my daughter, Maya and I. Because she is at her bio-dad's house tonight, I don't get to fall asleep with her, so I thought it would be fitting to post this as a surrogate.

"Tranquil Night" 2.5" x 3.5" artist trading card

Coming soon, a post devoted to artist trading cards...

Introduction

today I will show you one piece of art and tell you one fact about my life. It is a small start to a blog, but I am just getting my toes wet...

fact: up until the time I was in first grade I lived on a farm and milked cows.

This is a portrait of my friend Gretchen. It is an ACEO,
or art trading card.
