New Cherry Blossom Journal

I was finally able to use my new paper today and this is what I made:








On the last page of the journal, I added my chop. It means "Beauty".

The art of my father

My dad, James, has been making art for years, starting out as an ironworker in Chicago, working as an ornamental ironworker, sculptor and recently a painter. Although I love his sculptures best, his paintings are quite beautiful as well.
During a recent visit I photographed some of them and although the pictures to not do them justice at all I thought I would post them. He is also going to start selling his paintings on Etsy ( I think he should sell his sculptures too ;) ).

A wonderful day with wonderful friends

As mentioned, Nathaniel and I went to Milwaukee yesterday with our friends Andrew and Julia. It was a blast! Nathaniel and Andrew are in law school together so they of course spent most of the time talking about law and politics. Julia and I had an agenda for going, which was to check out the shop Broadway Paper looking at new goodies for our bookmaking projects. Because we both have shops on Etsy selling books (Julia introduced me, with I am forever thankful for) we had one rule as we salivated over the lovely paper, that we could not buy the same papers :)

First, we went to the Milwaukee Art Museum. The architecture of this building is so exquisite.

Next Julia and I went to Broadway Paper while Nathaniel and Andrew went to a coffee shop.

We had a nice dinner at Beans & Barley, a cute little restaurant and market that Nathaniel and I would go to with his sister and brother in law when they lived in Milwaukee

Going to Milwaukee tomorrow!

I am super excited! My friend Julia (aka Red Otter) and I are going to Milwaukee tomorrow with our husbands for the afternoon. It is going to be so nice to get out of town for the day. I will post about it when we get back!

New Book

I am really proud of how well this journal turned out. I love brown and blue together, even if it is trendy.

New art

There just is not enough time in the day for all the artmaking I dream about doing. I did manage to finish the book I was working on and paint an ACEO. I am pleased with it.
